Every TOPACA bag is handmade in Guatemala by Maya artisans and their families. Many are sewn from huipiles — the blouses Maya women weave on a backstrap loom — and from cortes (skirts) woven on foot looms in jaspe (ikat) patterns, so each crossbody bag, tote, backpack, hip bag or pouch is one of a kind. We design and produce every bag ourselves with artisans from Chichicastenango and the towns around Lake Atitlán, and sell them wholesale to gift shops, boutiques, fair trade stores and online retailers, shipping and exporting to more than 31 countries.
